Five LGBT celebrity couples and their houses by Nivelle DumlaoPublished: July 2, 2015Updated: July 3, 2015

Hooray for #lovewins! Can we also say their #housewins, too?

In light of the well-celebrated hashtag #LoveWins on social media portals because of the legalization of same-sex marriage in the United States, lets you take a peek inside the homes of famous celebrity couples from the local and international LGBT community.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi

Sold by the couple in 2007, this 4-bedroom mid-century house was re-purchased by the famous talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi last year. Located in Nichols Canyon, this 18,300-square-foot house has undergone a number of renovations while keeping the great views of the city. It also has four bathrooms, a modernized kitchen, fireplaces, and a stunning pool that can be viewed from almost every room.

Sir Elton John and David Furnish

Married just last December, singer-songwriter Sir Elton John and film director-producer David Furnish currently reside in Old Windsor in Berkshire, England. While owning residential properties in the USA, France, Italy and in London, the couple most of the time stays at their 30-acre Woodside residence or what the Rocket Man fondly calls “the hub”.  An orangery that’s next to the entrance gates welcomes guests into their 8-bedroom home. It also has five reception rooms, a chapel, a library, a man-made lake, a billiards room, a tennis court and more than one garage for their cars.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka

After almost ten years of living in Los Angeles, How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris and his husband, actor/chef David Burtka, moved into the newly remodeled 5-storey townhouse in New York along with their four-year-old twins. This bed-and-breakfast-turned-home consists of several bedrooms, a music room, a state-of-the-art kitchen for Burtka, a den, an office for Harris, and wide spaces for their precious art collections, prized possessions and memorabilias.

Anderson Cooper and Ben Maisani

Built in 1906, this historical firehouse was bought by well-known news reporter Anderson Cooper, who carefully maintained and preserved its historical charm while updating it with important features like brass sliding poles. This 4-storey home measuring 8,240 square feet and located in New York’s Greenwich Village still has its original brick floors, iron spiral staircases and the old firemen’s gym. Adding a modern twist, it was reported they had an elevator installed. Cooper and life partner Ben Maisani while currently residing in New York have also purchased other residential properties overseas.

Boy Abunda and Bong Quintana

Multi-awarded talk show host Boy Abunda and his life partner Bong Quintana have been living together in their Quezon City home for over 10 years.  Bamboos partially cover the house and its Balinese-inspired lanai.  The interior design consists of gifts from friends, as well as things bought by the couple from the places they’ve gone to here and abroad.  Centralized air-conditioning for the entire house was given by Boy’s co-host and friend, Kris Aquino. The master’s bedroom is hotel-inspired with a bathroom that has an Oriental feel. They have provided rooms for Boy’s mother and other guests who occasionally visit and sleep over. Fun Fact: Because Boy does not like plastic flowers, only real flowers are allowed and maintained inside their home.
