Home buying and living made easy at HMLE 2

The HMLE2 at the World Trade Center was a one-stop shop for property buyers and sellers.

Various real estate developers, design and architectural firms, furniture suppliers, and builders/construction companies gathered together to front their products, services, and information at the recently concluded second annual Home and Modern Living Expo (HMLE). Tagged as the “one-stop-shop for the promotion and the linkage of buyers and sellers in the industry”, the event served not just as a venue where buyers and sellers can meet, but also as a platform where various professionals can interact and make connections.

“The country’s property market continues to be on an upswing. Despite the worldwide economic downturn, the Philippine property market remains resilient, clearly reflected by the numerous developments throughout the country for both commercial and residential properties,” according event organizer Premier Events Plus Group, Inc. (PEPGroup).

For three days, property and home design companies took over the World Trade Center to present the best they had to offer. Real estate developers showed off what their new projects’ interiors look like through life-size displays, most notably Alveo Land’s Solstice living room encapsulated in a giant bubble. Décor businesses unrolled home accents like wallpapers and curtains, and appliance enterprises displayed the latest electric gadgets in the market. To entice guests, many of the booths also held different activities and gave away discounts and freebies.

One particular highlight of the 3-day event was the series of continuing professional education (CPE) seminars staged for real estate brokers. Some of the industry pros who shared their knowledge were Wilfredo L. Segovia (president and CEO, The Segovia Group) on real estate property management, Julius Guevara (associate director and head of the research and consultancy, Colliers International Philippines) on real estate trends and forecasts, and’s general manager Butz de Castro on real estate and online marketing.

This year’s HMLE was held alongside the Digital Life Congress & Expo and was organized in cooperation with the Manila Board of Realtors, Inc. (MBR), the Philippine Association of Real Estate Boards, Inc. (PAREB), and the Pasay-Makati Realtors Board, Inc.
