Property giant Megaworld Corporation is eyeing 2015 as the launch year of two new hotels, one each in their townships Newport City in Pasay and Iloilo Business Park.
Iloilo Business Park’s Richmonde Hotel Iloilo, which will open in 2015, will occupy eight levels of the 12-storey Richmonde Tower and will offer 151 guest rooms. Amenities will include a restaurant and deli, function rooms, business centers, fitness gym and a lap pool with a pool bar.
“Finally, we are bringing a new hotel experience for Iloilo where business indeed meets sophisticated pleasure. The people of Iloilo can now be proud of having a hotel that truly provides first class standards. We will certainly set the bar of hotel lifestyle in Western Visayas,” Prestige Hotels and Resorts, Inc. managing director Carmen Fernando said. Prestige Hotels is a Megaworld subsidiary and will oversee the operations of Richmonde Hotel Iloilo.
The Belmont Luxury Hotel Newport, a 10-level accommodation with 480 suites, will be launched within the second half of the 2015 in Newport City.
“We have been experiencing an increasing demand for hotel rooms in Newport City because of its proximity to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, and of course, the presence of Resorts World Manila. Belmont Luxury Hotel Newport will primarily cater to business travelers who expect luxurious hotel experience in a private enclave,” Megaworld senior vice president Francisco Canuto said.
The Belmont’s facilities will include pocket gardens, a landscaped atrium, pools, a gym and a medical clinic. The ground level will also feature a coffee shop and several retail stores.
According to Megaworld, these developments are part of the brand’s strategy of building hotels with a total of 12,000 hotel rooms with sister company Travellers International Hotel Group.
