The nationwide search for the best real estate projects is officially on as Philippines Property Awards 2016 launches
The Philippines Property Awards 2016, the Philippines’ biggest annual real estate awards, officially opened with a press conference at Fairmont Makati last October 29, 2015.
“We’re not only holding a launch party for our 2016 event in the Philippines,” said Terry Blackburn, CEO of Ensign Media, publisher of monthly magazine Property Report. “This is a showcase of our commitment to the country’s exciting real estate market, and to recognize and reward the most significant contributions to the sector from local developers, building on our experience with the Asia Property Awards in the past 10 years.”
Starting November 29 of this year, nominations from developers and the general public will be accepted. The categories are grouped into three main sections: Developer, Development, and Design. These three categories will comprise condominium, housing, hotel, office, retail, green and villa segments. Property firms are also welcome in the Awards as long as they are nominated by a third party.
All nominees will then be evaluated by the trusted board of judges in the coming months. Successful entries will be supervised by one of the world’s largest accounting firms, BDO. A total of 26 trophies will be given away at the glittering black-tie awards gala happening on April 7, 2016, Thursday, at the Fairmont Makati.

The editors of Property Report will be giving an additional award—Real Estate Personality of the Year—to the outstanding individual in the Philippines for his great achievement and influence that highly reflected in the real estate industry. Past recipients of the recognition include former Ayala Land president and CEO Antonino Aquino, Megaworld Corporation chairman and founder Dr. Andrew L. Tan, and The Net Group executive vice-president Ramon Fernando D. Rufino.
Coinciding with the press conference was the launch of the second Property Report Congress. Following Ensign Media’s successful first Congress the previous year, the upcoming Congress will gather the country’s leaders and experts in the real estate industry. This event will not only be an all-day seminar but also a chance for real estate specialists to expand their network.
