PRO-FRIENDS subsidiary Micara Land, Inc. welcomed this year's Easter Sunday at their maiden project, Micara Estates-Tanza.
Micara Land, Inc., and the Our Lady of The Holy Rosary Parish successfully staged the Easter "Salubong" at Micara Estates-Tanza, Brgy. Sahud-Ulan, Tanza, Cavite, last April 5, 2015. Part of the Holy Week Celebration, the Easter "Salubong" was attended by approximately 1,000 attendees.
Traditionally held at dawn of Easter Sunday, “Salubong” is a Catholic tradition that recreates the first meeting of Jesus and Mary after his resurrection. The “Salubong” is comprised of two separate processions that begin at two opposite ends – the procession of menfolk who carry the statue of Resurrected Christ is separate from the procession of women who carry the image of the Blessed Mother covered in a black veil. The two processions will meet at a defined middle point. Afterwards, an angel who is usually played by a young girl, will lift the black veil from the face of the Blessed Mother, and the choral singing of Hallelujah follows. Eucharistic mass celebration ensues.
This year, the two processions began at the chapels of Starfish (womenfolk) and Capipisan (menfolk). The processions met at the entrance of Micara Estates-Tanza at around 4:30am. The mass started at 4:45am and lasted until 6:15am. Father Eleomer G. Dendiego celebrated the Easter Sunday Mass.
Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish takes care of all its fourteen chapels (Starfish, Postema, Summercrest, Greenville, Sahud-Ulan, Halayhay, Calibuyo, Lambingan, Bagong Pook, Bejia, Matabok, Munting Amerika, Capipisa, and Garden Coast). In 2015, the parish selected Micara Estates-Tanza as the venue for this religious gathering because of its strategic location, accessibility, and spacious open area.
Micara Estates Tanza is proud to be the host of this significant Catholic tradition as it seeks to develop a community that features live, work, learn, play and worship within the Estate or in close proximity. In a statement, Mark Joseph Arisgado, marketing manager of Micara Land, Inc., said that “We intend to work closely with the Holy Rosary Parish for future activities like this. Supporting church activities is central developing the caring community we envision for Micara Estates-Tanza.”
Micara Land, Inc. is the affordable housing subsidiary of the Property Company of Friends, Inc.
