Willowtree Development Corporation is now moving on to the second phase of The Residences at Brent, their seven-building, low-rise residential condominium development in Baguio.
“We cannot be more grateful to the warm reception of the market with the first building. It inspired us to create an even better version for the second building.” Willowtree vice-president for marketing and sales Ulysses Gaerlan said.
The first installment of The Residences was Hamilton Hall, which is composed of 16 2-bedroom units and 3-bedroom Penthouse units. Hackett Hall, the second building to be constructed, will consist or 26 units and will also introduce one-bedroom units not available in Hamilton. While it has a bigger gross floor area and more units, Gaerlan assures that the second building will retain the overall feel of the project.
“Our aim is to provide our patrons with a better experience but we want to remain true to what we originally intended our clients to feel – which is the old-fashion Baguio experience,” Gaerlan promised.
Units are available for 99-year long-term lease. Gaerlan announced that Hamilton’s units are priced at Php 81,000/sqm, while Hackett’s are available for Php 75,000/sqm.
Feeling the “unique Baguio experience”
Located along Yangco Street, The Residences occupies a land area of about two hectares and is said to display a “rustic contemporary mountain lodge” aesthetic.
“We have something here that captures everything that Filipinos and tourists alike love about Baguio: the cool weather, the serene ambiance, the thrills and the rustic atmosphere,” Gaerlan said. “As a Baguio local myself, this premium residence brings back sweet memories of the “old” Baguio intertwined with the contemporary.”
Hamilton Hall’s 2-bedroom units are sized at 102-116sqm, and 3-bedroom units range from 152sqm to 156sqm. Special features include the access card entry system, centralized LPG gas lines, stand-by generator, and a common driver’s quarters.
Hackett Hall ensures low-density living with only four to six units per floor. One-bedroom units range from 63-72sqm, while 2-bedroom condos start at 93sqm and go up to 105sqm. Units are built with features like kitchen cabinets and granite countertops, an automatic sprinkler system, and a balcony. Three-bedroom units also have a maids’ quarters, and an electric fireplace is an optional add-on to any unit.
Buildings are equipped with comfort and safety features like a fire detection and alarm system, a backup generator and water supply, 24-hour CCTV, a service and emergency exit stairwell, and basement parking. Community amenities include an outdoor and indoor basketball court, pocket parks, natural trails, picnic area, children’s playground, a clinic, and a chapel
Real estate for a cause
Willowtree is a joint venture between Brent International School – Baguio and the Episcopal Church of the Philippines. The Residences at Brent was built as a fundraising effort for the preservation of the two institutions.
According to Willowtree VP and treasurer Joaquin Buenaflor, offering the units on a 99-year long-term leasing agreement instead of selling them lets the Episcopal Church maintain ownership of the land where The Residences stands, while continuing the inflow of funding for the school and the church. Gaerlan also pointed out that long-term leasing allows them to offer the units at a more affordable rate.
