Being Metro Manila’s largest city both in terms of size and population, it is quite an understatement to say that Quezon City—or QC—is perhaps the National Capital Region’s most popular location for homebuyers. In fact, some of its districts, including Loyola Heights, South Triangle, Fairview, Novaliches, and New Manila, among many others, are the most searched locations for properties by users of Lamudi Philippines. However, it should be noted that the great majority of these online property-hunters are researching about houses and similar properties (including townhouses, row-houses or traditional apartments).
But this is starting to change really fast.
With the increasing popularity of condos in the Philippines, and the proliferation of mixed-use developments or integrated townships where most condos are built, many Filipinos are now seeing the benefits of vertical living, especially when these condos in Quezon City are situated within a self-contained community where virtually everything is within walking distance: offices, shopping malls, schools, and even hospitals. MyProperty.ph has put together a list of areas where one can find the best condos for sale in Quezon City.
Utter the phrase “integrated township” and Eastwood City, Megaworld Corporation’s very first such project, would immediately come to mind. A brainchild of the company’s CEO Andrew Tan, Eastwood City is a self-contained community, or a minacity, where everything can be found.
It has office high-rises housing BPO companies, traditional corporate headquarters, and SMEs and creative agencies; shopping malls and strips of restaurants, supermarkets, and even schools and clinics. And, of course, it has condos.
Among the properties that offer plenty of condos for sale in Eastwood City include East LeGrand (towers 1–3), One Central Park, The Eastwood Excelsior, and Eastwood Parkview Towers, among others. Condo prices in Eastwood City range from Php5.5 million for a 62-sqm one-bedroom unit in Eastwood LeGrand Tower 2 to Php10.5 million for a three-bedroom apartment in Eastwood Parkview.
The Katipunan Avenue area of Quezon City is one of the most popular areas for homebuyers. Also the location of several high-profile colleges and universities, including the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, and Miriam College, many of condos built here in recent years are aimed toward students.
The most commonly searched condos in Katipunan Avenue include SMDC’s Blue Residences and Berkeley Residences, Vista Residences’ Camella Condo Homes Katipunan, and Burgundy Place, among others. A one-bedroom condo unit in Berkeley Residences has an asking price of Php2.85 million, while a similarly sized property in Blue Residences has an asking price of Php3.1 million.
New Manila may be popular as home to large properties of old families who relocated here after World War II, but this area is also now getting the attention of property developers, who are building condo projects here. They include Robinsons’ Magnolia Residences, Rockwell Primaries’ 53 Benitez, and DMCI Homes’ The Amaryllis, among others. A typical one-bedroom apartment in Magnolia Residences, which measures 36 sqm, can be had for Php5 million, while a two-bedroom condo unit in 53 Benitez normally has an asking price of Php6.5 million.
